East Atlanta. The community will be comprised of one-to-three-bedroom townhomes, sized from 600 to 1,500 square feet, with prices starting at $155,000.

Twenty will be priced for households earning up to 80% of the area median income, and the rest will be priced for buyers making between 80% and 120% of AMI.

The Trust at East Lake will initially market the planned units exclusively to residents of the Villages of East Lake, a predominantly Black rental community managed by affordable housing provider Columbia Residential.

The development will employ a community land trust model, allowing people to buy the homes while leasing the land from ALT. The dual-ownership arrangement means ALT can keep housing permanently affordable while empowering homebuyers to build generational wealth

ALT plans to break ground on the Trust at East Lake Summer 2022, with a target completion date of fall 2025

What Is A Land Trust

A Community Land Trust (CLT) is a community-based nonprofit organization that utilizes public and private funds to provide affordable housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income households within a specific geographic area. By creating homes that remain permanently affordable, CLTs provide successful homeownership opportunities for generations of lower income families and are an effective strategy to reduce displacement of legacy residents.

The Trust at East Lake partners with approved lenders who are knowledgeable about the community land trust model and therefore you would need to be pre-approved by a lender already on our list of approved partners. We want to make sure you have the best possible experience and therefore it is essential that you work with a lender who is familiar with the land trust model and can guide you to a successful closing.

If I purchase in the Trust at East Lake does this guarantee my child can attend Drew Charter School?

Unfortunately living at The Trust at East Lake cannot guarantee that your child would be able to attend Drew Charter School. If you are interested in Drew Charter School please contact them for more information on their admissions process.
